Do my customers need to install an app?

No. They scan the QR and the menu opens in their phone browser - WhatsApp and Instagram browsers work too. No login. No signup. No app download.

Why is a QR menu better than a paper menu during service?

Accepted Answer

Staff do not have to take the menu away from the guest. The QR stays on the table, and each customer keeps looking at the menu on their phone. With a paper menu, once it is taken away, the guest has nothing left to look at or order from - and that slows the table down. With BiteX you can also mark items sold out in one tap and give discounts to regular customers.

If I upgrade my plan, do I need to reprint QR codes?

No. Your printed QR codes stay the same. New features turn on from our side. The stickers and table tents on your tables do not change.

Can I change prices or mark items sold out during service?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Change a price or mark an item sold out from your phone. The next guest who opens the menu sees the update. You can also give discounts and offers to regular customers without printing new menus.

Is BiteX only a QR menu, or also a billing / POS system?

Accepted Answer

Both are in the same place. Start with a digital QR menu. When you are ready, use table ordering, billing, kitchen screen, staff access, stock tracking, and more than one outlet - for restaurants, cafés, hotels, resorts, and similar places.

How does billing work if I have more than one restaurant?

Each restaurant is billed separately through Razorpay (UPI, cards, netbanking). One owner account can add more outlets as you grow - each with its own menu, tables, and subscription. Live checkout uses your plan settings; on our website we list Lite from ₹699/mo excl. GST.

What if a payment fails?

Accepted Answer

Your customer menu stays live for 7 days while we email you reminders. A missed payment will not break QR codes in the middle of lunch. Pay the due amount and everything comes back on right away.

Can my staff manage the menu too?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Invite staff by email and choose what they can do. They can mark items sold out and preview the menu. Higher plans allow more control. You can remove access anytime.

Can I change the look of my menu after printing QR codes?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Themes only change how the menu page looks. The QR link stays the same. Change the theme anytime - the same printed codes still work.

What if I rename, turn off, or delete a table?

Accepted Answer

Renaming a table does not change its QR. Turning a table off is reversible - the QR shows a simple “table inactive” note until you turn it back on. Deleting a table is permanent and breaks that table’s printed code, so we ask you to confirm twice.

Does the menu work on slow internet?

Accepted Answer

Yes. The menu is light and loads again quickly on weak networks. Live updates like sold-out status need a connection so guests see the correct menu.

Can I stop my plan anytime? What happens to my QR codes?

Accepted Answer

Yes — no lock-in. Your plan runs till the end of the paid period. Your QR codes stay yours. Start again later and the same printed codes work again.
